Applications are invited from suitably qualified Mauritian Nationals for the COL– Skills for Work Scholarship. The aim of the scholarships is to close the skills gap for in- demand and high-demand jobs in commonwealth nations.

About

Commonwealth of Learning aims to support the efforts of the Commonwealth Member States to disseminate skills required for decent employment and entrepreneurship and pave the way for skilling, reskilling, upskilling, and lifelong learning.

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology have partnered with the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) which aims at offering 1,000 scholarships yearly under the 'Skills for Work Scholarship', spanning the period 2021-2023.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Mauritian Nationals for;

2. COL-Coursera Skills for Work Scholarship
3. COL-Udemy Skills for Work Scholarship

The courses will be delivered online and should be completed within 6 months.

General eligibility criteria

1. Those who are interested in gaining new skills to enter the job market;
2. Open to any gender, women are especially encouraged to apply for the Scholarships;
3. Persons with disabilities with basic ICT skills.
4. Candidates should be 18 years old at the time of application.

Specific requirement the COL-Grow with Google Skills for Work Scholarship

Candidates must have at least an A- level in Mathematics

NOTE

1. Beneficiaries of scholarships will be required to commit themselves to complete their studies within the allocated time.
2. Candidates who are currently pursuing their final year of their undergraduate / diploma / postgraduate degree are strongly advised to apply.

• Deadline for submission of application is 20 December 2022
